Hi, I’m Hanna

Hello there! My name is Hanna Schultheis-Gerry (she/her) and I am an Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#138178, renews 2/28/2027), currently being supervised by Jeannette Harroun (LMFT 51366), at Bay Area Psychotherapy Institute in Lafayette, Ca.

As a therapist, I believe that we have an innate healer within each of us. My hope is that together we can activate this inner healer through talk therapy, play, drama therapy, and art, in order for you to live your best life. I am here to help people find and maintain what I like to refer to as their inner sparkle. I have helped clients work through anxiety, loss, grief, depression, low self-esteem and life transitions.

My therapeutic orientation  encompasses trauma- informed and attachment-based approaches, while using play, body-based interventions and drama.

I work with children of all ages. I am currently training in Developmental Transformations, a trauma-informed body-based therapeutic improv, as well as working towards becoming a Registered Drama Therapist. I like to meet clients where they are at.

Originally from the Bay Area, my background is in theatre, arts education and arts advocacy. I have a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with a Drama Therapy emphasis from California Institute of Integral Studies as well and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dramatic Writing for Television, Film and Theatre from California State University, Los Angeles. I identify as an artist-healer. If this resonates with you please reach out for a free 20-minute phone consultation.
