What is Drama Therapy?
“ Drama therapy is the intentional use of drama and/or theater processes to achieve therapeutic goals. Some may be surprised to learn that drama therapy is for all ages.” - North American Drama Therapy Association.
Drama therapy modalities that I draw from:
-Developmental transformations: I would describe this as trauma-informed therapeutic improv. It involves spontaneous embodied play that frees up stuck patterns and points out trauma schemas.
-Psychodrama: Think of parts work, but on its feet! We could speak with your inner child. We could challenge your inner critic. We could sit with your childhood dog. The possibilities are endless.
